About Us

The Ottawa Inline Hockey League (OIHL) was founded by two passionate hockey enthusiasts, Sam and Nick, who grew up playing countless hours of roller hockey on tennis courts, outdoor rinks, and the streets of Ottawa. From a young age, we were drawn to the thrill and camaraderie of the game, creating memories and friendships that would last a lifetime.

As we got older, our love for inline hockey only grew stronger. We wanted to take our passion to the next level and compete in a league right here in Ottawa. However, we soon discovered that no such league existed. Determined to continue playing, we began traveling around North America, competing in cities like Toronto and various locations in the United States, where inline hockey is cherished and has deep roots.

After years of playing, learning, and experiencing the vibrant inline hockey communities across North America, we realized there was a unique opportunity to bring our experiences and love for the sport back home to Ottawa. We wanted to create a space for players of all ages and skill levels to come together, share in the excitement of the game, and build a community around inline hockey here in Ottawa.

Thus, the Ottawa Inline Hockey League was born. Our mission is to offer a fun, competitive, and welcoming environment where players can come together, compete, and grow the sport we love. We're excited to share our journey with you and invite you to be a part of our inaugural season!
